The video was prepared as a welcome message to students in the Organisational Behaviour and Human Resource Management course. It was recorded in one take in front of a green screen and took approximately 15 minutes to edit with the assistance of a video editor.
For each new cohort, I intend to prepare a new video to inform of the course requirements, the course support team and to encourage learning.
Ideally, to make future video messages more inclusive, I plan to incorporate sign language and more subtitles. My planned approach is similar to what was done in the YouTube video on Disability Orientation (note the interpreter and sub-titles) available at the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YcqSarNiacA
Thus far, I've figured out how to edit the closed caption, scroll text and insert the video of an interpreter in the same scene as the main presenter, using iMovie.
The next step is to either learn sign language or enlist the services of a sign language interpreter.
Truly, I am looking forward to preparing another video and including more inclusive content to cater to different types of learners.
